Some towns seem to have a glut of mid-20th century architecture.  Here are a few buildings – or parts of them – which exhibit design characteristic of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.  Just because.

 

Bowed walls – with windows at each end – add interest to an otherwise nondescript building.  The unfortunate downspouts are a later alteration.

 

Haphazard window treatments and sloppy roof flashing are at odds with the crisp modern design of this post office building.

 

Gotta love the centered doorknob and playful glazing of this early 1960’s door!

 

An interesting 1950’s church building with a reasonably respectful addition to the right. The bell tower (next photo) is the best part.
