The weather is still a bit warmish and we’re not even done with the exterior repairs and painting but Jim was itching to see some cresting on the roof. A lecture on the virtues of delayed gratification did nothing to sway him. Just a few sections have gone up; I will post more when the installation is completed!
That would be too tempting for me to wait for as well. It looks great!
Thanks! I didn’t try too hard to dissuade him…
Such a beautiful house. The Crest is beautiful up there!
We’re doing our best to re-create what once was; I’d love to take credit for the color scheme, but we’re just replicating the original one. While not an exact duplicate of the original cresting, we feel that it conveys the same spirit and are very happy with it so far. Glad you like it, too!
It looks fantastic! So cool to see an old house with its cresting (at least partly) restored!
With houses of this era, too much is simply not enough! Hopefully it will all be installed this fall… stay tuned!
The princess needs her crown! The house is beautiful. Great job!
A happily appropriate sentiment! Right now she’s just at the tiara stage, but this princess will soon have the full crown she once did and is still so deserving of!
Wow beautiful detail! The cresting makes the eye go up… it’s the first thing you see.
Yes; it is more prominent than we had really expected (but we’re completely OK with that)!
