Nothing surprises me anymore, really.  There is literally no end to the weird things people will do to houses and other structures.

This house has suffered numerous indignities including the installation of asbestos siding and the later removal of a window from the center gable.   The replacement window is not only under-scaled and stylistically at odds with the house, but it is upside down as well.

Some architectural components can successfully be utilized in unconventional ways.  This window, however, is not an example of creative and considered design.  This is something else!

The upside down fanlight in the gable appears to have insulation packed against it on the interior.

I think that this fanlight was taken from a door of the sort purchased at Big Box home “improvement” stores. It’s not even a real window!
