The large storage unit is now almost finished.  It still needs a plywood panel where it connects to the desk and the entire thing needs varnishing.  Like its smaller mate on the other side of the room, this one has electrical receptacles in the base and on the top (to facilitate display of some vintage lamps).  Speaking of vintage lighting, I replaced the “Fiesta” light fixture seen in a previous post with one which is slightly more Jetsonesque.   I liked the colors of the Fiesta light, but the ironwork had too much of a 70’s Mediterranean Revival vibe for my comfort.   I think the new one will work better with the table that will eventually be beneath it.

Just like the first one, only longer!
